I have a 3414 with tandem hyd pump for power steering and lift. The pump went bad and I replaced it with new one. It lasted about ten minutes. Company replaced it. I installed it and fifteen minutes later it cracked the back housing and started blowing oil out again exactly as the other did. What could be causing this to blow out the pump? Could it be a relief valve or something of that nature? Company said they had never had waranty on one of these pumps. Need advice. Bill

A 3414 is a industral tractor and did it have a Hoe on it at one time in it's life , if so they may have the hoses dead ending and this may be the problem or you have a realy stuck pressure relief valve . Not tryen to be smart here but i avoid industral tractors and equipment like the plaue as 99.8 % of them have been beat to death mickymoused together anyway that one can do it just to get them thru a sale and when sold they run as fast as they can to get the check cashed before the pin falls out of the hand gernade . and the new owner start yelling . NOW DO NOT LET ANYBODY KNOW THAT I have worked on industral equipment and never liked it when ya hand the bill to the guy for the repairs as it is usualy three to four times higher then a farm tractor for about the same work because of the price of the parts. And a word to the wise always use pressure gauges to check pressure while working on a hyd. system and one must alway be vary careful with high pressure hyd. as it can cause seirous injury or death .

Do you know where the pressure relief valve is located? It has a 3pt on it anbd there is some valves under the front of thseat I know I should have a manual for it but doing the guy a favor but now I'm up to my butt in alligators just trying to get away from the mess. Thanks for your help and will remember the IA advice. Bill

Are you sure of your line hook up? and yes it sounds like a check valve but usually these are in the pump itself

I had a hydraulics guy from work check my b414 out the rear 3point unit has a dump valve build in it. when your not using your 3 point it allows the pump to circulate fluid with no presure when you raise your 3 point it blocks and builds pressure. if you use loader you will need power beyond port to run to the excisitng 3point. you will also need to a drain from loader valve to tank under seat, that is if there is a relief in th eloader valve which would be needed.
