The other day I was moving my 1948 Super AV when it stopped pulling. The clutch still works and you can still shift gears and the PTO still works BUT the tractor will not move. Does anyone have a clue what the problem might be?

I found the reason why my super AV want go. A broken left axle. I asked around where I live and called T&H Tractor in Pavo Ga. and they said they shoud be able to fix me up T&H is a tractor salvage yard in Pavo phone # is 1-229-859-2643 or 2645 they have a lot of old tractor. I've been told they have around 100 old restored tractors and hundreds of tractors they part out Wish me Luck!!

I use a piece of fuel line hose. Works great!

Alvin: Is there any noise from transmission or final drives? If you can still clutch, shift gears and pto has power, there has to be noise, it may not be loud, but will be there. With tractor running in gear and pto engaged, cut off your wife's broom handle, put one end to your ear a other end a various places around the power train. You'll hear it and be able to pin point exactly where noise is.

Hmm.. Diagnose the tractor and enrage the wife? I'll take my chances with a handle from an old shovel or something =P

Jay: I'm always finding uses around my tractors, for some of my wife's tools of the trade. Don't take her best broom, pay close attention to the tools she's growling about. She's going to buy a new one anyhow.

Measuring cups are a big one with us, I get a couple of those a year, soon as she has the 1/4 and 1/2 cup mark worn off. I actually have a reserve of broom handles in my shop. She started buying those damn plastic handle brooms. That didn't work as she was coming to me for replacment wooden handles before she had the broom worn out.

Ya gotta play this right, I could have suggested to Alvin, buy a stethescope, will work well, but then he's out spending money, not the Mrs.
