The 150 years of IH book by Wendel is still in print. Charles took it to Krause Publishing to have re-run. It is now a soft cover book that has an M on the cover.

When the book was made, it was "THE BOOK" on IH, because it was the only book on IH. Several books have been made since then that easily out do this work.

IF Wendel would ever update this book, he could have a real good seller.

Ken: Thanks for that, my old hard cover is starting to show it's years from being loaned. I hadn't really heard anything up here. Last time I was at my usual book retailer his shop was locked up. Age tends to do these things to small country shops.

I just bought the 150 year book -- it's ok, but I'm a little disappointed because the original photos were not reproduced very well. Better than a copy machine, I suppose, but still not very clear. Still much better than not being able to buy it at all, though.

When Charles did this book, he was allowed access to the IH archives (when they were still in downtown Chicago). The policy at the time was that NOTHING left the building as original materials.

Wendel built a special fixture to hold a camera and made photos of the photos for the book. THAT is why they are not super sharp. And to quote Paul Harvey, "now you know the rest of the story".....
