Rusty i am confused. This tractor was originally distilate as you know. I asked YT about their listings on the carb kits and they are saying the 50981-DA was built by Zenith for IH. As you can see the 2 comprehensive kits listed both sound right for this tractor(other than this carb does not say zenith but has the IH cast in it). Nothing makes ne madder than geting the wrong parts. So which one is it?

Banjo, I understand that your carb is the distillate or kerosene carb, and the number I gave, 50981, is the gasoline carb, BUT, you need to realize that all of the Hs that originally were set up to run on distillate fuel have long since been converted to run on gasoline, simply because the distillate fuel became obsolete about 50 years ago. The distillate carbs and the gasoline carbs are basically the same identical carburetor. The only differences being the main metering jet, and the fact that the distillate carb has a drain cock on the fuel bowl, and the gas carb has a pipe plug in that hole. The main metering jet is easily changed, and the kit will include a new one. Everything else is the same. Since distillate is no longer available, I am sure you will be running your H on gasoline. This is why I recommended getting the comprehensive kit for the 50981. Whether or not Zenith built the carb for IH is basically irrelevant, because there is only that one style used on the Farmall H.

The 50981 is the kit you want, and it is not for a Zenith. I have never seen a Zenith carb on an H. Don't think there is such a thing. Before ordering though, you might want to contact YT and tell them to double check their listings.

that is what he said. But if you look at the listing for the carb it plainly says it is for a zenith.

I would just like to know if my carb is a zenith or if the listing is wrong . According to Jeff at YT it is a zenith made for international.
