My Farmall A has a lot of play when I am turning both ways. How do I fix that?

Just stand up by the steering sector and turn the shaft and you should be able to see any looseness of the moving parts starting with play in the tie rods, how loose is the main draglink from the sector. There can be play in the steering sector also as the gear mite have a loose fitting key and the bearing can also be worn. Mite even have a bad bushing at the bottom of the output shaft. Also the top bearing in the output shaft could be bad. You just have to turn the shaft and observe where the play is as probably there is a bunch of things wrong after all its only 50pluss yrs old.

Chances are that the arm that fastens to the rod on the bottom of the steering box is loose.
