anyone have pics of the setup on early A's where the switch cable and mag mount? For our restoration. What holds the cable in the middle? How is the set up fastened? to what and where?
Thanks very much . . .

I just bought a complete mag with the cable attachment and the cable kill switch on ebay for way too much $$$. I've been looking for one for seemingly forever. Did everybody discard those things years ago or what? When it arrives I'd be glad to send some pics of how it's set up.

If the mag has a switch on the side it is operated by a push/pull rod. The bracket next to the throttle should be vertical with a small hole in it to support that end of the rod. Check your serial number against the parts breakdown listed at caseih.com. It will tell you what it should have been and show pix of rod, brackets etc.

The sw is operated by a choke type cable and not a rod.

Do you have the sw that mts to the mag? Is there a bracket next to the throttle with a hole in it?

no the sw mounts on the mag and the cable runs to the hole by the throttle lever. Now we are talking about a hand crank model arent we? The early ones without starter had a choke type cable running to the slide type sw mounted on the mag is this the cable you mean. Now ones with a starter had a kill sw on the steering post and a insulated wire going to the post on the mag this sw had one post as it grounded out the mag to kill the engine. Do you have the slide sw on the mag?
