IH 66 series cab on a 56

As far as what you are talking about, all 706 thru 1466 are the same darned tractor and it will bolt right up.

You will need the mounts, the floorboard and PTO shift lever out of a factory cabbed unit. The cowl area adaptor plate is the only difference.

Otherwise, it is a straight bolt on deal.

When my 656 was 7 years old, I got a real good buy on a diamond cab that came off a 1066. I made that work on my 656, bear in mind the 656 being small chasis, I had to completely fabricate mounts, both at axle and side of tractor, and I also had to completely design a floor and back around the 3 point hitch. It worked and I stayed warm.

You see the thing that really annoyed me, I had just bought a new 1066 with ROPS cab that a hired hand was going to enjoy doing tillage on cold spring days, while I parked my posterior on the seat of an open station 656 and planted corn or drilled grain. Somehow didn't feel right, knowing I was the risk taker.
