Does anyone think it is necessary to tear the engine down to inspect? This engine just locked up recently due to rain water leaking in through the exhaust manifold. It "has not" been sitting in the shelterbelt out back getting froze up. This just happened over a short period of time. I dumped the oil out to get the water out of the pan and then I couldn't get it started again, so I mistakenly walked away from it for a couple of weeks and that is when I discovered it was locked up. Been working on freeing it up ever since and now I finally got it free. Thanks.

Start it and run it and if you get a lot of smoke, run it some more, and put it under load. Run a little MMO or ATF in the fuel to help unstick the rings. It will heal.

Steven, start it and see how it runs. If you get a lot of smoke and or oil consumption, then tear it down. I would suspect that it may need sleeves and rings. A good honing may do it. Might not need anything.
