Ya know Mike, if you had come across the southern US border, you wouldn't have to be concerned about your kids health care or education expenses. US taxpayers would foot the bill, thus leaving you with $$'s to spend on a Farmall. Now if you were born up north in Hugh-Canada-land, things may have been different. Up-bringing there may have left you feeling you shouldn't 'jump the border', maybe you would feel responsible for your own actions, maybe you would feel the need to raise your family the 'old-fashioned way'. That is, spending $$'s and your time on and with them and also with your wife. Maybe you would feel you would have to acquire Farmalls the 'old-fashioned-stupid way' like Hugh, where you worked for them. I don't know if your kids are old enough to help with working on the tractor but maybe you can give them an old sock and have them wax it - bonding time with the kids. It would give the wife a chance for some time to herself or for her to be with other womenfolk or maybe develop an interest in red-iron. The gentleman sounds sincere in you getting the H, there is the added plus of an active local IH chapter for advice and camaraderie along with a chance for a mental escape from reality. Let the gentleman get back to you regarding his weekend findings. In the meantime, buy your pop by the 12 pack or case, not the individual can, make a list, don't just impulse buy at the grocery store and soon you will have enough $$'s saved for those new tires. I'm sure you will keep us posted.
