Does anyone know if the lights and mounting bar were different or did someone sell an after market light kit? Mine looks alot like the others but the pipe bolts directly to the side of the light and it looks like they were black. Thank you in advance.

I wish I had a scanner. I am looking at the Farmall Model H Photo Archive book. The very early 39s had a dual tubular steering post assembly which was not very stout. I don't think the early ones came off the line with lights. Justin, Guy Fay or Titan would have a more precise answer.

The 39 H light bar was different than the later ones, so I'll try to explain.. The later light bars were just a pipe attached to a stamped steel plate that had dimples stamped into it to go around the rear steering support.. the 39 bars were the same, but instead of having dimples stamped into the piece of steel, there was a cast iron peice that took its place.. I know it is not a good description, but the best I can do.. I know titan has a bar for sale, and he may be able to get a picture of both and scan them on..

The support bar that Red is describing is the prototype support..

I guess it is determined that these lights are after market, They definitly are not home made. I wonder if anyone knows of companies that would build electrical equipment at that time that could be added to tractors. Thanks for all the replys so far.
