On the 29th, I sent out an SOS about an electrical starting problem on my Cub Lo-Boy 154 and a number of you were nice enough to suggest solutions and tests. I spent a number of hours last week testing and rewiring and swapping and eventually narrowed it down to the starter/generator. I went to swap it out for a good used one and found that the pulley was locked in place by an internal fault of some kind. (I'll be taking it apart to find out what is going on in there). When I was turning the engine by hand I was on the carb side and couldn't see the starter pulley, the belt must have been sliding around instead of turning. I'm used to diesel compression so it turned fine to me at the time, turns a lot more freely now. I got it back together last night and it started raining before I could finish and test (I'm working outside). I'll post up the results after I get the battery in and do a test fire later this week. Well, at least I know most of the wiring and components on a Cub Lo-Boy now.

thanks for the help.

Joe
