touch control O/H kit from Case/IH-Comments?

I have done 1, I lay the parts out then when I reassemble I pick it up, remove the o-rings and lay them out then match them up to the new ones. then spray the part with brake clean, lube and install. The manual has a great pix of the parts. I did not get all of the pressure relief valve parts out, but did find them in the bottom part in my clean'n tank after I installed the unit and it would not lift till I had max RPM.

If I were to do another one i would clean the case spick and span B-4 I took it apart. Then i could spray off the case on the table and reassemble. I would get a new pressure relief spring. far as the boots you can make'em your self or pay big bucks for CNH junk, what a rip off. I did git a new straniere it did not fit up flush with the case, I returned it and got my $68.00 back for it. @ that price I was not going to do a shim and fit. Instructions will come with the o-ring kit, believe them. Their is something about not pushing the control rods all the way in it will cut the o-rings I can see were it would. Its a PITA to git the lift linkage loose from the lift pistons/control rods, take plenty of pix'izz of the linkage. I have another and had to go take a peak a few times.

Like George said, clean is critical. I like to spread plastic coated butcher paper on the bench to keep the odd parts from picking stuff up.

To the extent you can, use compressed air to dry the clean parts. Especially when you go to clean out and dry inside the block. Don't go in there with a rag. There's a lot of burrs in there that'll snag lint and whole threads off a rag leading to problems later.

I vaguely recollect that the old head gaxket on mine looked just like machined steel and I almost missed it. And, if your kit is like the one I got for the unit on my SuperC, you'll have a few O-rings left over.
