If this is now fixed, ignore this. Starting at the starter relay on the side of the starter there should be three (possible 4) terminals. and four things connected 1}A heavy wire from the battery, 2}another smaller, but good sized #10 wire going to the Amp meter. 3} a wire coming from the start terminal of the switch "S" (or the start button if stock)going to the small S terminal on the starter relay. 4}And one heavy strip of copper running 2" to the starter motor. ((If there is a fourth terminal it will be small and might have an "I" near it. This goes to the coil side of the resistor at the spark coil to bypass the resistor when starting))From the other side of the amp meter, there should be an assortment of wires, with one going to the Key switch B terminal. At the switch, the I -or Ign- terminal will connect to the non coil side of the resistor at the coil. This supplies voltage to the ignition when running, and starting, if the relay has no forth terminal mentioned above. If the Ignition resister is burned out the tractor will operate as it does now if the starter relay has four terminals, and the I terminal is connected to the coil side of the resistor.
