Is it possiable to put wide front end on a 50-51 m? I know they made kits for some, but not sure for M . Or is it worth doing vs common sense? HEY RED shes purring like a large kitten, and roars like a beast.

Bob,
Out here on our farm in WNY we have both kinds of WFE for the farmall M/superM. The ones that have the steering arms facing towards the back of the tractor are far superior to the ones that stick out in the front. Shwarts and IH made the ones that face the rear and allow the tractor to steer alot easier and they look a heck of alot better too. I've purchased many over the years and have found that they are getting harder and harder to find these days. Prices range from 300-800 for the shwarts. The one for the M/superM will also fit a 400/450 but wont work on an H.

Thanks Mark; sounds a little pricey, Think common sense shall rule. On those hillsides guess I'll use the jd 1010. you'rW NY? I'm E NY. Thou my old Man used his Farmal 300 on all of this land. I wouldn't go where he went with wide front end!!!

Congrats Bob. How long did it take you to rebuild the governor? And yes you can stick a front end on there. IH made them and I have heard several folks talk about Swhartz front ends.

If you really want a wide front end, open your wallet wide. Check out Walt's online tractor parts catalogue and ask a tractor salvage yard if they happen to have one or can find one. (Off the shelf price for a light weight $800 heavy weight $1000, then add freight).

You should get several responses on the WFE. I looked over at Farmall in site search and couldn't see anything specific right off hand. I know this topic had been covered before.

Well my diagnosis is that you are slowly deterioating with the dreaded FARMALL TRACTOR DISEASE. There is no known cure at this time.
