My BN has an occasional miss or pop to it. But if it is run in 3rd gear or under a load up a grade it smooths out and sounds real nice. Also, the faster I run the engine the better it sounds. Is this a rich or lean condition with the carb maybe? Thanks

Sounds like it might be a fuel issue, but I'm also wonderin', mag or coil ignition?

I have a B that did the same thing for a while. I discovered that there was deterioration of the contacts and carbon tracks on the inside of the distributor cap.

When I replaced the distributor cap, it also fixed that occasional miss that it had.

Don't know what is causing yours to do it, but that is what fixed mine.

Thanks Dave. I'll pull the cap and check it. I sort of ruled out ignition because it runs good and smooth under a load. I thought ignition would pop all the time? I'll take a look at points and cap tomorrow. Thanks again Bob
