I found a SMD and was wanting to know what a fair price woould be for one? Runs good has good rubber wide front end, but i was wondering on the serial number its earlier under #2000 I asume that would be 52 or soo? besides the live hydro is there any diffrnce between that engine and the one in a 53? The guy wants 2200 for it i think that seems real reasonable...

Thanks Andrew

Both engines are the same. There would be no problem putting live hydro on i except parts locating, and possible battery relocation if not under the seat. Price seems OK to me I would run it under loasd for a while to see if it is good when warmed up. JimN

also make sure when you shut it down you run it on gas for atleast a min to clean the diesel out of the cylinders so it will be a hell of a lot easier to start. just keep in mind tht engine parts are very expensive too.

None, they are fine economical engines Idle them when shutting down for at least a minute, if h=worked hard two minutes, then shut off the Diesel and switch to gas for 30 seconds or so. Then shut off. Switch to the diesel position when stopped to close the compression valves (keeps them cool, and limits their being stuck open. JimN
