third party image

Here's the pic of my Grandpa's M that I wrote about last night. I went and looked at it today and it is about 10 ten times worse than in this picture. My dad about got sick when he saw it, because they always took good care of it. There was not a lick of paint on it, one tire was flat, and just poor looking sitting there in the weeds. We got the guy down $500 to $1000 and I think we are going to bring the old girl home where she belongs. Thanks for everyone's comments. I'll keep you updated. Thanks. Bill {Antique Acres}

P.S. I think this picture is around 1963

Way to go Bill !!! We need to preserve
our heritage, and keep these machines going.
They are not that hard to paint yourself
once running good and altogether. If you have
the time and determination, a clean new-paint
tractor is really great to drive...even if you
use a lesser grade paint. Even feels good in
the field working it and getting dusty !

Congratulations!!!!! !! We were all hoping you would get it. I know it's probably making you and your dad sick because the condition, but at least you will have the ole girl back. Hopefully one day you will have it back to original. Jon.

Don't let it get away! My grandpa had a 200, BN, and a A. My father wanted to get somthing new to work on the farm (bush hog, snow etc) and wanted to sell the old iron. I was able to get him to keep the A (which he has know given to me) but the BN and the 200 went. I would give any thing to get the BN back, at the time I thought it was a B, not the harder to find BN, now I am kicking my self. At least the guy how bought them is really good with them. He owns 40 + tractor, and he keeps them all inside. He says any time I want to come over and visit the old girls I can. He has never sold a tractor, but maybe some day....

That Winders 98 has some flaws for sure. This morning when I hit the modem it said resources low. I only have 256MB ram!

Nice picture of the tractor, Bill. It's a shame what some people will let tractors go to, when simple maintenance is all it takes. Best of luck with getting the M back like it belongs.

In addition to my post above. Thanks to everyone saying to make sure that is really the tractor. It is unforunate that people would try to scam someone on these terms. I am 100% positive that this is my Grandpa's tractor. As soon as my dad saw it he knew that was it. There are things my Grandpa added over the years to make it easier to use. It has a M&W hand clutch added on, small wheel weights instead of the traditional ones, a bracket my dad made to lift up the brake pedal lock so you won't have to bend over. It;s deffinetly it. My dad also though it to be a 47', but upon further inspection of that tag today it is a 41'. Thanks everybody. Bill {Antique Acres}

Bill I would guess the seller has gone as low as he will go. Just don't be surprised when all sorts of problems pop up. That combine is going to keep my hands full for a couple of years.
