BIG BORE 20

Has any one out there had a f-20 with 4" pistons tested on a DYNO. I build one with 4" bore, head milled .050 under, gas manifold, used a f-30 carb. It runs strong, But I have not had it on a DYNO. We had a 400 IH that farmed with and that the old f-20 would pull just as much or more , faster than the 400 would. I would like to know what it,s putting out H.P. wise. It,s alot more than the stock 20 H.P.

I don"t have an answer to your question but I was wondering where did you find a set of 4 inch pistons? I would like to get a set for my 20.

Thanks
Jeff

I bought them 4" in 1975 at TSC (tractor supply company), sleeves, pistons, and rings $100.00 for a set of 4 back then. You could buy stock 3.75" for $75.00 TSC said the 4" was 6 to 1 comp. ratio, milling my head .050 should have bumped mine to around 7 to 1 Good luck!

I put several of my tractors on the Dyno at the I & I Penfield show last year.

The F-20 did 27 on the belt. It is a '37 and has electric start. I have not done anything to the engine since I have had it.

The H did 34 hp. It is a 1945 war time tractor.

The A did 33 hp. It is a '50. I still have head gasket problems with this one!
Link

The CC did 40 hp. It is a 1938.

The C did the best at 44 hp! It is a 1930 - neat little tractor.

We did not do anything special to any of these tractors before putting them on the Dyno.

I have since purchased a M & W Dyno so now I can put them to work every once in a while when we have time. If any of you guys are in my area and want to put your tractor on a Dyno, let me know. I do not have it set up for running a belt but it can do PTO.

I hope the pictures show up!

Sorry the pictures are not displayed!

If you copy past to your browser you will be able to see the tractors belted up to the dyno.

I have an F-20 that I'm currently finishing up. Has a complete new rebuild with 4" pistons but nothing else fancy. Be curious myself.
