Does anyone know the size of tires that came on the I-12 International?

What was the main use for this tractor?

Bernie

I think these are original tires on the rear of an I 12. Not the best picture but does show the tire.

Are those 9 x 24 or 11.25 x 24. I have seen that rear industrial tread on several early industrial tires. I don't know the brand but I think they basicly preceeded the roadgrader type tread that we generally think of as the standard industrial tread today. As to early industrial front tires, I have three kinds pictured: kind of automotive looking tread as in your picture, multi rib almost smooth as modern I-1 tires, and a shallow lug tread like your rear tires mounted backward.

On the Fairway 12 pictured, it was standard with 24 x 8" steel front and 16" x 40 steel rear, or optional with either 6.00 x 9 or 6:00 x 16 low pressure smooth rib front and 9:00 x 24 low pressure diamond tread rear. The tires pictured are for a regular W-12.

The W-12 was standard with 3 1/2 x 22 1/2 steel front and 8 x 42 steel rear or optional with 6:00 x 16 3 rib front and 11.25 x 24 rear.

The O-12 was standard with 6:00 x 16 front and 11.25 x 24 rear

The I-12 was standard with 6:00 x 16 industrial tread front and 11.24 x 24 industriaal tread rear.

I looked at my book wrong. On the I-12 9 x 24 industrial tread was standard rear and 11.25 x 24 was optional anlong with solid tires.

The military used them around airports. Here's a pic of one restored by a family in Ohio several years ago. Hal
