What parts are you specifically looking for? You can add the 474 model to your list as it is the same as a 574, only made in England

Bob,
I will check around for these items. The battery door is available from a Case IH dealer for $50. You could get a piece of plexiglass and make the dash lense. I have been think about replacing one of mine. I think that I saw a replacement grill in an after market catalog, wiil look. The radiator shroud is going to be hard to replace as the only ones that I have seen were in bad order.

Bob D,
I searched through my catalogs but could not find the grill for the 574. Maybe I was mistaken or had it confused with my 986 for which I did find the grill. Call 1-888-658-7171 on Monday and explain your needs. If they do not have the items they should be able to reference a source.

Were your 574's made in England? Best I can tell from the ID tags mine was.

One was, it has a straight front axle and larger tires. The other one was made in the US. It has a swept back front axle and is lower profiled. The English one has a step to climb aboard and the US has no step. Both have the Robt. Bosch injector pump with the start position on the fuel cutoff control. This is a major asset when cranking in cold weather. My US tractor has 2250 hrs. and I have had it since 50 hrs. Oh yes, forgot to mention, this tractor has the factory ROPS. The English tractor was bought cheap with a Case I H loader mounted to it. The tractor looks good but the engine was poorly maintained by the previous owner. It needs an overhaul. The kits are not cheap. I can overhaul my 200 HP 6 cylinder tractor cheaper. What do you think is a reasonable price on a 574 in good order?

LTF

I think you nailed it.

Mine fits your discription exactly, straight front axle, cold start position and the step are all there and it is tagged from England

I dont know what one is worth but as I said I think mine is in exceptional condition and I paid quite a bit for it. A little more than 1/2 a new Mahrinda 40 Hp. Probably more than a 574 cost when it was new.

I'd like to know what year mine is as I've been told its a '71. Also I'm curious what they did cost new and what the real Hp ratings are as I've been told it is 54 Hp.

My 574 with the swept back axle and the ROPS is approximately a 1978 model and I paid $7k for it with 50 hours on the meter. At the time, I thought that I had a bargain and I still think that. A good one will bring that now. This is a popular tractor and it has held its value. A choice one is hard to come by. I would not trade my best one for a flock of recycled sourced material and poorly machined imports. My second 574 is not a showpiece but last Spring when I was trading for a new tedder, the dealer tried his best to buy it for $6k with the loader attached, even after my telling him that the engine needed overhauled. What would you take for yours?

I gave about $6500 for mine about a year ago after looking at assorted high dollar junk for 3 years. I bought this one with the idea that I'd still be using it when I was old(er) and grey(er) as long as I take care of it. I don't think I'd sell it for any reasonable amount. I plan on trying to put a loader on it soon.

When you add the loader, you need to have already decided on how you are going to add some counter weight to the rear. If you can find some suitcase weights you could build a bracket for them to affix to the three point hitch. I am trying to figure out something for mine that I can readily remove. There are times that I do not like transporting excessive weight across wet fields and pasture causing soil compaction. I have made a detachable bracket for my bucket that permits me to mount a set of surplus forklift forks which comes in very handy.

I"m looking at a 574, advertised for $7k that"s in good running order with only 3,642hrs. Equipped with an 1850 loader. Any recommendations on a brushhog attachment to the three point-hitch? Any other suggestions for checking to ensure I"m not getting into any problems.
