I split one because I wanted to remove the block and go through the whole thing. It was not too bad, pretty interesting. The Farmall video of the 3 guys in flanels does a pretty good job of showing the basics of overhauling an H, M, Super's, ect. For $20 to $30 it was well worth it.

Bob, why do you want to split it? The clutch can be replaced underneath without splitting, the driveline, belly pump drive and all seals can be replaced from underneath..so just curious as to why you are planning on splitting it?
