Does a Farmall F-20 IH Manifold and a F-20 Heisler manifold have the same size exhaust pipe? I need to know so I can get a muffler, I don't have the tractor here right now. Thanks.

OK Andy, here's what I've got. Original IH is 2-3/4 OD of the pipe, the two aftermarkets I have are just slightly less than 2-1/2 OD. Your results may vary.

Why do you want to put a muffler on a F-20? They sound beautiful with a straight pipe!

Mine has a very long straight pipe on it now, but I think I like a muffler better.

Thanks.

I think the Heisler pipe is the same size as an H or M, and the IH gas and kero manifolds with the three-bolt cast pipe used a little larger muffler.

Thanks for the fast reply, I was at L&M Fleet to get a muffler and the Stanley muffler catalog said that the Farmall F-20 and F-30 with Gas manifold use the IH-16 muffler. Do you know if "Gas Manifold" would be the Heisler manifold? If you don't know, I guess I'll just have to wait and measure the tractor when I get it picked up.

Thanks,
Andy.

The IH gas and Kero manifolds had a cast iron pipe with a flange with three bolts to fasten it to the manifold, and most if not all the aftermarket manifolds I have seen used a little smaller threaded steel pipe. If you have a Heisler or TSC manifold for sure I bet it uses the same size as an M. I have to go out and shut my shop doors yet tonight, I will measure a couple of them for you. Your safe bet would be to wait and measure yours to make sure.
