Hi Folks, we have just acquired a 1951 model C Farmall tractor and would like to know what oil to use in the engine crankcase? We would also like to know if the original was a 6 volt or 12 volt system We have manual on the way but it will take a week or so to arrive. Would appreciate any and all information you care to share with us. We are looking for full restoration.
Thanks
Blake

I use Harvest King All Season oil in my Farmall H and it works great and gives very good oil pressure.

Thanks for the information...was neat to find that the crankcase has no dipstick but two valves for high and low levels. We are not new to restorations but new to tractors so any help will be appreciated Blake

I run 30 weight in son's SC(10W30)..From factory it was 6V generator with positive ground. If someone has converted to an alternator then very possibly could be 12V negative ground..
