Does anyone know where to find a wiring diagram and/or instructions on converting an International Farmall from 6 volt to 12 volts?

Thanks for your help -- I am looking up this info for a friend who is computerless.

Bari, Check your email...the diagram is compliments of Bob Melville on YT Boards. It worked out very well on my '48 Farmall M.//FB

Here's the wiring diagram referred to by Farmer Bob. It'll work for your '49 H. (Unless it's got magneto ignition - if it does please advise and I'll post the diagram for mag ignition...)

Thanks for posting this diagram on this site. I had a friend of mine ask if I could convert his Super M to 12 volt . He told me anouther had tried and his tractor still wasn't charging. I used your schematic and within 30 min we had a charge.I've ran into a problem with starting now. Using an in-line tester, the spark is real weak. I changed the coil post connections so the hot wire from the resistor goes to the + side, negative to the points. Was this not right? Should I have left it as it was? Do you have this info -Primary and secondary resistance of the coil? This coil looks original! Thanks, Gary

That's the best wiring diagram I've ever seen. A few days ago you posted a diagram for an older A/B 6-volt system, but I can't get the picture to come through for me. I'm working on a '41 A, and it's just what I need. Could you re-post or email it to me? Thanks in advance.
Dave

Dave - Thanks for the compliment! Here's the A/B wiring diagram. I'll e-mail the .jpg file to you off the board too in case you can't view this...

Thanks for the kind words! Figure I've learned a lot from this board - if I can give a little back, then that's only fair.

Thanks also to Farmer Bob for providing the scanned A/B wiring diagram!
