Did Farmall Cub ever have live power on PTO and if it did what year did it start? What year did they start having Hydraulic lift available. Would a tractor with serial number 151837 (what year is it)have either one. So I had more than 2 questions. Appreciate any answer you might have on any or all of the questions. AD

The Cub's came out with hydraulics in 1948. One year after their introduction. You could still get them with either the hand lift or the hydraulics through the years. Bill {Antique Acres}

My Cub (# 14870) which was purchased new by my family in 1948 has the Touch Control package.

Your Cub is a 52 model.

Unless someone drastically altered the transmission, the Cub never had live PTO.

When the Cub started production in 1947, the hydraulics weren't completely ready, so IH installed the manual lift on the earlier tractors--it served the same purpose. Soon after, the hydraulic Touch-Control unit was ready and was a standard option. More than likely a serial number that late would have hydraulics, though it depends on the original buyer's preferences. Also, the Cub hydraulics are live. Chris
