Barb on the steering shaft side where the shaft runs along side the oil pan, you should see two drain cocks on the side of the oil pan. Open the lower of the two. If oil drips out you have enough. Open the upper one. If none drips out, add oil until it starts dripping. Then you are full. Don't forget to CLOSE the drain cock back up.

Thanks! However the lower drain cock nut is cracked off. We will have to somehow pry that off. Thanks so much for the info!!

If the "wing-nut" handle is gone, sometimes you can turn the stubby shaft that's left behind with vice-grips. Also, on my A at least, they do screw in, but were also welded from behind, probably to stop them from leaking. If they are not welded in, a new one from Central Tractor is maybe $6 or so, and shouldn't be too hard to install.

I think they screw into the pan.

I wouldn't worry about it Barb. As long as you have oil just dripping out of the top one you will be full.
