Ive got a 49 cub and don't have a op's manual yet. Where is the trans/diff oil level "check plug" located? Is there a check plug for the hydraulic lift system, and lastly can ATF be used in the resovoir?. Thanks guy's!!!

The trans level plug is on the left side of the trans housing about 1/3 of the way up the side just in front of the shifter. It is a 1/4" pipe plug, if I remember. Don't use ATF in the touch control, it is too light. Find a CaseIh dealer and use HyTran Plus oil. It is the recommended oil, and one gallon will more than do this system. What you save on cheaper and possibly inferior oil won't buy a pump for your Cub.

The hydraulic fill fitting is ao the left top of the touch control unit. When checking fluid level make sure the cylinder is retracted and maintain liquid level about 3/4 inch below fill hole.John

John;

I just got my Cub home last night. You refer to "cylinder", "retracted". Could you please define/explain?

Thanks, Happy Holidays
