Will a 6 volt regulator,(the steering post one) from an M fit a 6 volt SM 6 volt system. Is there any other ways to compare M & SM parts on the web if I don't have all the manuals? I do have all the M manuals. Thanks for any leads.

When I bought the last regulator for our Super M the guy just said "positive ground 6volt regulator, Check!"
So I'd presume that a six volt positive ground regulator is a six volt positive ground regulator.

I kind of lucked out, our Super M is a '52 and in many ways is more like an M than Super M. The battery is under the gas tank, but its got the later foot starter switch, hydralics are like an M, hence battery placement, but the IH symbol on the front is like a Super M. Overall its kind of a neat tractor to have.

Thanks Ludwig, My SM is a 53. Battery under gas tank foot starter lever, but with live hydraulics with resevoir also under gas tank. Also has the lift-all. Runs like a top. Just have to clean and paint. This is going to be a good summer. Thanks again.

Huh?
I thought that the battery got moved under the seat to make room for the live hydralic resevoir. I also thought that once live hydralics came in you couldn't get a lift all...
Shows how much I know.

Ludwig, I forgot to mention, there is no belt pulley assembly, so it has the room for resevoir.
