Hey ,Mike dont be sorry! It livens up the board to have a little contraversy every once in a while,it's nice to argue with someone other than the wife!I am a refugee from the car collecting hobby which got ruined when people became too serious about every little inspector mark,or the correct way a hose clamp should face, somewhere along the line they forgot it was supposed to be FUN!I hope we never forget that these machines were built to wallow in the mud and kick up dirt, and that it is much more enjoyable to pull a wagon full of kids with a tractor than it is to worry about its rarity and its investment potential.I hope my spoofing on the demo's didn't offend anyone,I just don't want to see the hobby get too serious!Happy 1999 everybody,Dale

Dale,

I agree completely with your comments. I just sold my last two antiques earlier this year. I hated to see a good antique car ruined by street rodding it and I liked for all of my antiques to be basicly as built with the right engine, wheels, etc. However, I also liked to drive them and enjoy them and did not care if they had the right hose clamps and radiator hose markings or other such nit picking which is what all of the antique car organizations have gone to. I believe in the same thing in the tractor hobby. I don't like to see a Chevrolet V8 in a Farmall tractor but as long as the tractor looks basicly as built, wether it is completely restored or a rough tractor straight from the woods, I enjoy it. If someone wants theirs white, so be it. The only factory new white tractors I ever saw were C's but I do know that some dealers painted others White at the time. The idea is to; enjoy them, use them, and have fun. Happy new year.

Don't worry to much- the Super M I grew up with had JD 4020 fenders- worked petty good, too. Its just fakers who try to put one over on folks that gets people upset. We're just trying to prevent IH from becoming like Two Cylinder.

Hey Big Mike, dont worry about that. I kinda thought that I would re-paint the ol` F-14 with a white engine and drive train, with every thing else being red `ceptin the wheels, they would be gold. Then I could tell every one that it was a "Pre Demostration Demo" the first one made, what do you think, will it fly? Steve T

Prolly will, Steve. Had a neighbor who painted an M red engine and drive train, black 'er dark blue hood an' grill, with white grill insert and pin striping. I kin honestly say, I've never seen another like it...
