I didn't realize they were sreviced separately. Why did the shop say you needed them replaced?

If Im interpreting what you are saying right, you are refering to the holes for the head bolts to go through. There are no sleeves in there. Its just a hole. Now if you are refering to the two small "tubes" that help align the head when you put it back on,the machine shop should be able to take them out and put them back in.Again I could be reading you wrong.

If I am interpreting correctly, you need the cylinder head breather tube (ref 24)(51206DAX) with connectors (Ref 25, 29, 30) on each end. You will see two threaded holes in the head, with one at each end just inside the raised lip of the head where the valve cover and gasket bolt down. The tube itself looks like a wide U with the vertical portion around 4 inches on each end and the horizontal length is around 16 inches or so. The tube has a slight angle to it and can only be installed in one direction. Sure wish I had a scanner! $23 doesn't sound that bad. You might beable to get a used one from Gary Biewer at 218-937-5627.

the tubes you are talking about were put in the center of the head becaues it,s week there and if you torqed it with out the tubes you would crack the head,i have replaced them before they tend to rust faster than other things. make sure wen you put it back togeather that there are 2 thick washer,s that go in those spot,s the new tubes should be preesed in.the shop was right.
