I don't know if i'm going crazy or not but here's my situation. I was looking for a small tractor to fix up for my FFA project. I saw an ad in my paper for a farmal super a. it said it had a cracked block so I thought i might be able to get a good deal on it. I called and asked what he wanted for it and he said 1750!! I told him i hadn't figured on giving over 400 with a crack in the block and he made me sound like I was the crazy one. Is this tractor realy worth this much or is this guy nuts? If it is, why is this particular model so valuable? Thanks.

The price sounds too high to me. Just be patient and you'll find a comparable tractor in your price range, but it may take a while.

the Touch Control system with the lines and hydraulic pump are worth $500 alone, $1200 would be a fair price

sounds a little high depends if the crack is just on the outside behind the carb and not between the cycls take the head off to check this out only cost is a new head gasket the SA would junk out for a 1000 even to replace the block isnt that expensive depends on the location of the tractor good block tires ect clean sheet metal tractor could bring 3000 easy find a 20 hp with live hy start ect and your talking bucks

Aaron: I went this evening to look at a 46 A that was wire brushed down, repainted, rewired for 6 volt, recent valve job, all straight sheet metal, new decals, had hand crank with it, and tires about 70% - cost was 1600.00. Jim
