motor has spot for hydralic pump but no water pump the motor is stamped with bn there is no seriel number on the tractor because the seat is was changed to farmall's more comfertable seat. The motoer is not like a super a or c motor because it doesnt have a place for a water pump. It looks to be the orginal motor.

It could be a 48 BN- the changeover from the A and B and BN to the Super A and C resulted in many strange combinations.

What about your engine serial number. It should be on a flat part of the block right behind your ignition.

Not all Super A or C had a water pump, it was added after early production. However, no B's were produced with hydraulics. I would guess you have an early Super A or C engine in a BN.

I saw a very late straight A once (ser num above 200,000) with the original block that had the hyd pump cutout with just a blockoff plate on it. My guess is that the Louisville built A's and B's might have had a later revision of the block? The water pump would just replace the lower radiator neck below the generator.
