Hi I am trying to pull the engine on my H tractor .
The bolt is out from behind the starter . The
pins are out from the motor plate . Side rails are
off . The clutch is untouched . Do I have to remove anything else ? I Have been tapping it with a board and sledge hammer and it will no come apart . The whole front boster is removed ,
so the engine is just hanging there .
Thanks in advance

Bob,
Did you remove the two long 1/2" bolts at the top of the Clutch Housing? They go in though the Clutch Housing and are threaded into the Engine Block.

Do I have to remove the clutch to get to these long bolts? I am not sure where they are . The gas tank mount is still on . The only bolt I found was the short one you get to after the starter is removed . Exactly where are these long bolts and how do you get at them?
I will look again .

You should have 1 long bolt across from the short bolt behind starter, these two and the four on either side, it should come off with the dowels removed, only thing that might be holding now is the pilot br.

Thanks everyone . this is tricky to describe this stuff over the e - mail After I took the belly pump out and almost the clutch totaly out . I read Jim's note and saw a bolt that had the negative ground battery wire attached . Well this was a very long bolt and the engine came apart with no effort . Glad I took the other stuff apart .
Found a loose bolt to the main drive and a leaky seal . Will fix it all now while its out .

The 2 long bolts he is talking about is right on top of the clutch housing on the outside. They are fairly close to the rear of the engine head, only a little lower and a little further back.
