I would like to make an offer for a Farmall 1206, which I know has not moved since 1988. I do not know why the tractor was parked, but it would make an interesting restoration. I would like to get some guesstimates as to a reasonable offer to avoid insulting the owner. The tractor has a cab, and is missing only one panel on the side of the hood. Many Thanks for your replies.

BOUGHT ONE TWO YEARS AGO THAT HAD SAT FOR ALONG TIME, IT RAN BUT THE DIFFERENTIAL WAS OUT OF IT BROUGHT IT HOME FIXED IT AND HAVE WON A COUPLE OF TRACTOR PULLS WITH IT.I PAID $2800.00 DOLLARS FOR THAT ONE . THIS SPRING I BOUGHT A 1456 THAT NEEDED WORK FOR $2500.00 THAT ONE TURNED OUT TO BE AN ORIGINAL GOLD DEMONSTRATOR.BOTH CAME FROM SOUTERN INDIANA.I DO ALL MY OWN REPAIRS AND FIND
THAT THE ENGINES IN THOSE TRACTORS ARE NO MORE EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR THAN ANY OTHERS.

Art make sure to post this also on Today's Tractor. Just use the shortcut above to get over to it.

I posted a 1206 open cockpit picture 2 years ago. It was a decent runner with average tires and paint. The consensus at that time was $5,500-6,000. I would think with the collapse of prices on the older more modern machines, that $1,500-2,000 would be a decent offer. If it has major engine problems, you will need a skidsteer to haul your money to IH!! Good luck and let us know what you do.

Why are you saying there is a collapse of
older farm stuff...tractors ? Is there
really, or in certain areas ? I have not
noticed it in Wyo. and Mont.

Sure is in Indiana. A lot of the 200 plus acre farms are being gobbled up by the corporate farms. Family farms in Indiana is a dying breed.
