Having trouble with tracter. Recently changed points, condenser, cap, plugs etc. Tractor now runs fine on a flat and level drive. As soon as I go under a load like up a small incline begins to spit and sputter and has no power. Adjusted carb as per book. Can anyone give me some ideas of what is wrong. Its sounding like a car problem but I can not figure it out or get it to run decent. Me being an amature does not help. Appreciate your inputs.

i don't think it sounds like water in the gas tank unless it runs like that all the time... if it does "act up" all the time no matter the conditions then it may be water... otherwise i would call the shot as your spark plugs goin bad on ya, i had the same problem last year, works fine at an idle, but once it has to work i lost a cyclinder or two... i just think u should check the plugs (put in new ones) before u have the tank cleaned or boiled to get rid of the water that may not be there. best luck

Bob L., You didn't mention how it runs under load on the level. If it sputters there I'd have to think is was your point gap setting...beings it DOES sputter on the incline leads me to think maybe the float setting in the carb. Could also be debris in the gas tank washing over the outlet to the sediment bowl and temporarily stopping gas flow. Check out these items and see if there is any improvement.//FB
