Does anyone make a replacement coil for my Farmall C that looks like the original one? Every replacement one I have seen look like an automotive one.

Ken Updike was trying to get original ones made up a year ago. Give him a call and check. 608-455-2411.

Try going to your local Case/IH dealer. He can probably get it. Many parts for those old tractors are still available through Case/IH.

My dealer sells a replacement coil that will work. But, it requires modifying the mounting bracket and looks nothing like the old one except that it is round.

I guess I am just too picky huh?

Hi Brian, Bill H. here, I bugged you to death awhile back on the Super C 3pt hitch questions. I to got the coil from my IH parts dealer, and you are right its not even close to the same! It looks like to me it would take a significant bracket modification to keep it from hitting other parts, and it just didn't look right. So Don't worry you are not the only fussy one. Let me know if you ever find a source for one that looks like original equipment, I'd buy one just to have, fortunately my old coil still works ok. Bill (wilnasfan@aol.com)

Hey Bill. Sorry I never got your pictures. Frankly just got busy and forgot about it. Will try one of these days soon.

My coil is still working, but I think it is getting weak. I tried to use a timing light on it a couple weeks ago and couldn't get a good reading. Tried the light on my Super C and it worked fine. I believe I may be getting a little low on power too.

Just think a new one would solve my problem and set my mind at ease and possible keep me from making that long walk back to the barn from that farthest away point to get a new coil.
