I drove out the pin on the very front of the crankshaft. Now i need to know, does the 1 3/4" nut in front of the pulley thread off or will it come off with the pulley? And if it threads off what is the best way to go about removing the nut and then pulley? Any assistance is appreciated.

Ben, You may find a keeper (Large flat washer) behind the nut that is hammered down against one of the nut shoulders. Take a chisel and straighten out the keeper before trying to loosen the nut. The best way I have found to remove that nut is to put the tractor in reverse, block both rear wheels front and back, then use a 1-3/4" open end/box end wrench on the nut. It screws off regular counterclockwise. The pulley is keyed to the crankshaft with a halfmoon key. Use a bearing splitter or something similar behind the pulley to even out the force of the jaws of your puller when pulling the pulley off. Use liberal amounts of penetrating oil in the keyway.

That nut is threaded on there. The best way i have found is to take a chisel and mark the nut and pulley while on there so you know how tight to get the nut when you put it back on. Now take a good chisel and hammer and try to get the nut to back off. If that don't work, get a torch and heat it up, then try the chisel again. This should work. Clean up the threads and use the chisel to put the nut back on.
