Can someone help me with the HP rating of a Super "A"? Are these powerful enough to plow a 3-5 acre field? He wants 2200.00 with cultivators, hydraulics and a 1 bottom plow. Thanks.

My grandfather used a Super A as the only tractor on his 30 acre arable land in the fifties. Used wheelweights for plowing (single bottom) and hauling sugarbeet off the field. Power wasn't a problem but traction sometimes was. Good luck, Hendrik

My Super-A brochure says its for farms up to 80 acres. 5 acres should be a breeze.

The Super A produces right at 17 HP at the drawbar. It should pull the 1 bottom without too much problem and should do just fine on 3-5 acres.

$2000 is a fair price for a Super A in good condition with good paint and rubber in my area. The cultivators are probably worth $250 and the plow worth $150-200 if they are complete and in good condition. This is just a guestimate

Location and condition will affect the value of any tractor. I would also check the compression before you buy.

From Guy Fay's IH Data book, drawbar is 17.35 and the pto is 19.06.
