We always bushhog with our B-275 all the time and I have really been wanting to hook it up to my H w/ 3pt. and see what she'll do but i never got a overrunning clutch and just never had the time. Well i got the clutch and hooked her up today. Man that thing was cuttin thistle's and a lil bit of everything as tall as the tractor in 3rd gear and never even grunted!!!! I was shocked. I think it does maybe better than the B-275 power wise. Well guess what tractor is gonna be bushhoggin the most now? Hope you guys and gals had a good holiday weekend and dont work to hard tomorrow!!!

I paid $65 then had to buy an adapter b/c the clutch wasnt big enough and they didnt have any in the right size. They only charged us $2 for a $15 adapter b/c the woman got the wrong number off it and didnt feel like going back to get the right one!

I brush hog with a worn C. Uses one quart of oil in two hours. Smokes like the devil. (ie. not factory HP)

I pull a 5 ft brush hog and have no trouble in grass or 1-inch sprouts. It is a little light on power in plum thickets.

An H will pull 6 ft but get ready to scratch it up if you are going into big brush. You can also break your exhaust manifold on low hanging branches seemingly just brushing the muffler. It is also real aggravating for a branch to pull out the coil wire in 8 ft tall thick brush. Also watch for leaves covering the grill. And make sure you have the rabbit wire on the inside of the grill or you will spend a lot of time walking from a hot tractor and cleaning the radiator.

These are my experiences, results may vary with the competence of the operator.

The good news is you are up high and don't get the beating the guys on Fords and new tractors do from debris thrown forward. And you get to hear the beautiful sound of a Farmall working under load.

This is good info, because I have a C and am planning on converting it to 3 point to use the 5 foot brush hog I currently use on an 8N. I prefer the old Farmall and have been wondering on how it would handle it. It is about all the little N will handle. I need a overrunning clutch for the C though. Don't plan on cutting any big stuff, just keeping weeds and small sprouts down. Nothing beats the sound or the way an old Farmall works. If the C converts well to 3 point I may sell the N and keep the 3 point equipt. to use on the C (can't part with dad's old C)

I use a drag brush hog, converted from 3 point.

You should get the external hydraulic valve and manifold setup to use a hydraulic lift.

I have not yet seen a good 3 pt run off the C's lift arms.

I'd be interested in hearing from anybody who has such a setup.
