Hi:

I am having trouble with hyd. oil getting by the seal and going down into my oil pan. I pulled the hyd. oil pump, and noticed lots of wear on the lead and involute of the pump gear. If there is a strain on the gear won't there be a strain on the shaft and seal? then allowing the hyd. oil to go on by? Any help will be appreciated, thank you.
Bob

Usually if the shaft moves around, it will wear the seal. If you have the number off the seal you can likely find a replacement at industrial bearing and seal suppliers. They may have one that will fit the shaft a little tighter. I buy all my seals and bearings from a company that supplies the mining industry. Hope this helps a little.
