Hello, I am wondering if anybody can help me with the procedure to adjust the brakes on an F-14. I have a friend with one that I am going to look at and wanted to go there with impressive knowledge!
Any tips would be appreciated! Thank you!!!!

Andy, Underneath the two screws that are on the edge of the brakeshoe where the pivot rides against the shoe you put shims for adjustment.

Didn't know that! Thanks, Ralph. My original owner's manual (for an F12) lists the shim as part number 15049 DB.

The only adjustment is on the pivot of the brake handles. There is a set screw and jam nut, you just screw it down enough to take up the slack so the brake actuates where you want it to.

If you can't take it all up, it's time for new shoes. Shoes are available from Rice Equipment or Glen Mlnarik's "Little Red Tractor Company"

I think I have a picture of the adjuster. If I do, I'll post it to this thread.

Just to the right of the brake drum there is a small white arrow pointing up at the adjuster. It's kind of hard to see, but it's just above the belt pulley shaft cover.

not to belabor the incredibly obvious, but there's another one just like it on the other side...
