After a couple of years hanging out at the N-Board, I've just been given a Super A in dire need of TLC and restoration. My Granddaddy farmed this little piece of dirt with mules, a Super A, a Cub and a couple of Fords. I now have an 8N and a Super A. When I find a 1949 Cub and two pairs of red mules, the set will be complete. I'll be checking in from time-to-time as I finish the 8N restoration and begin the Super A project. I know I'll be needing some Farmall advice.

Wow, all you Ford guys have be closet IHC fans all along?! I couldn't get along without my Farmalls and Fords as they all have a place working in the pecan orchard. BG, you'll really enjoy tearing into a C-123.

I almost bought a B-275 before I got my 8N. I'm glad I didn't because I have heard nothing good about the B-275, especially the steering. I'm really very ecumenical about old tractors. I started out lusting after a JD Model G which I guess went to the scrap yard. I always enjoyed the Super A and even the Cub we had. If one tractor could do it all, there would only be one tractor mfg. I'd like to get a Ferguson 40 and a JD G. I have my eye on a JD B and a AC-B right now. Yard ornaments...

PS to Ed Gooding. KARE is developing into a long-term recovery/mitigation project. My Super A and MH Pony will go under wraps until the barn is built and the 8N is finished. If I don't snatch them now, I might never get them. Stress levels are subsiding and time-consumption is leveling out. I'll get everything finished some day, unless I die first. Then my kids can worry about it.

I'm going to build a 24 x 36 pole barn(to start with...you never build one big enough) with a loft to store all my junk. I have the tractor projects, my woodworking tools, my sandblasting operation and whatever else I can bring home from my scavenging trips. It will be nice to have real lights and real doors and a real roof to keep the wind, rain and dirt off me and my stuff.

Your right, it will never be big enough!(-:
I think you know that I built a 30x50 pole barn with a 10' ceiling, I put lots of time in designing and layout and I'm very happy with it. I have a phone, running water, 200 amp service, floor drain and a heated floor (Of my own design)which I'm very happy with. When it comes time to start your pole barn I'd be more than happy to give you my 2 cent for what ever it would be worth??

After your barn is done ..."You can finish that &$%* 8n of yours ! (-:

Oh my God! I thought "hurricane induced stress" was bad enough. But, couple that stress with the agonizing required to get TWO different correct shades of red..... .gosh, I don't know how you cope, Bob.

How's your KARE project coming along?

Is there is Jackass restoration board too? I cant keep up with you guys. I am waiting for first frost to knock the tall grass down so that I can finish my child bride's 49 N. Wait until I tell her I need a couple teams of red jackasses to complete the set, keeping up with the Gaddises and all you know.

Yeah, I'm getting ready to purchase a Farmall A and it's nice to know you'll be here. We'll both need help.

Your buddy,
Tyman

I didn't get my grandpa's tractor. Ii wish we could have kept it, but it got sold in the estate sale. I got one about the same vintage and with a whole lot more equipment. Motor is locked up and one headlight is missing. But, it all seems to be there except that headlight. What I was getting at is that I will have the same types of tractors he once had. Just another way of keeping his memory fresh. There is an F-12 and F-14 for sale locally, $500.00 for the pair. I'm afraid to go look.
