Was interested in finding out what the original filler cap was like on my H Belly pump .
And how do I check the fluid leval especially .
I found an old cap but there is no dip stick on it . Was this the way it was ?
Thanks in advance

Thanks Red , Would you bewilling to measure where the marks
are on the dip stick . The full leval would be very helpfull . I imagine to make something out of 16 gage sheet metal may be about right .
Make the circle then weld a dip stick on that .
these seem to be hard to find new or used .

Bob neither of my current Hs have one. I had one on the 1951H but it now resides in North Carolina. Have you tried Ken Updike for one? 608-455-2411. He probably is gone for the day. Also give Gary Biewer a hollar. He might have a used one. 218-937-5627.

The top plate is not welded to the dip stick but the dipstick is spread to keep it loose but from falling through. That lets the dipstick swing instead of vibrate.

I also have a tractor with a jointed dipstick. It is real easy to remove.

If you don't find one I'll take measurements.

Bob the dipstick was a separate part that has a plate on the top of it. It rests on top of the filler pipe underneath the cap.
