Little Genius plows will for the most part have parts numbers that start with "PO". Also, the back end of the plow just doesn't look right- the #8 has a pretty distinctive tail post.

It sure resembles a # 8 , but that long rod and spring assembly doesn't look right. I can't find any part # in my parts book that starts with HTP, nor any 140A. Maybe an earlier model?

Well at least I think I found it. On page 229 of the "150 Years of IH", it would appear to be a Little Genius #8 plow. They were manufactured from 1928-1960. 67,000 were produced.

Yah, And the only thing "RARE" about it is it hasn't been cut up for scrap. My Dad had several 3 bottom #8's. Can't give them away at sales anymore. But 2 btm's sell for $$Hundreds. Did All You guys know you can pull the back bottom off the 3 to make it a 2? Those plows were Kinda like the #24 Mounted Corn picker IHC made. IHC had been trying real hard to forget them for 50 yrs and people Won't let them do it. The #8 plow was probably as good as most during it's day. But IHC just sold them for about 20 yr too long.

Ummm guys?
That thing looks an awful lot like my Allis-Chalmers model 214 plow. Something just doesn't look right to be a Little Genius, but I can't put my finger on it. 'course I'm no genius myself;)
