Hi,

I have a Farmall C with an auxillary hydraulic pump that is driven off of the distributor. I have no idea what type of pressure this pump will develop, but would like to start using it. My research so far shows most rams have a working pressure of 2500 psi. A friend tells me that most older systems worked at lower pressure. Does anyone know what pressure I can expect from this pump?
Thank you for all replys,
Bob Beckman

the dia of the cycl has a lot more to do than the hy pump 22lbs of exhaust pressure lifts a 2 row cult and a mold plow that is to heavy for you to carry on a B or A what are you trying to lift

the hyd.cylinders you are talking about are made to withstand 2500 psi safely.without leaking but is not necessarily a working pressure.most tractors today are set for 2250 psi.the older tractors used less pressure since they were not required to lift 6 row equip. or 2000 lb hay bales.1200psi is more than enough to lift a disc or any other equipment you can pull with a C

You can buy a hydraulic pressure gage for about $12 to $15. You can screw it onto the outlet of the pump and then you will know exactly what you are getting.

The H and M engine-mounted pumps are rated for 1,200 psi max - I presume the pump on the C is similar. Can anyone verify?

I&T Manual shows operating pressure of 1,100 psi to 1,500 psi for C and Super C.

If the tractor only has the Touch Control a separate hydraulic valve will be necessary to use remote hydraulics.

As was suggested, put a gauge in the rear-most plugged port on the manifold on the side of the Touch Control unit (where the tubing from the pump ends) and operate the Touch Control to see how the system is performing.
