I have an 806 diesel and noticed the other day with the tractor idling, the fan blades and belt had some side to side motion. It appears that the bearings that hold the water pump shaft that the fan blades bolt to are going out. I have no water leaks. It appears to me that the water pump is in 2 pieces, an internal cartridge that contains the volute and shaft, etc and the pump housing that bolts to the front of the block. I am looking for anyone's input whose has had experience replacing these water pumps. Case IH dealer quoted me 185 for complete rebuild of pump instead of replaceing bearings in cartridge unit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Put one in my 806D last summer about a $100 from worthington ag parts for a rebuilt pump. My hoses were shot so it was several more dollars.

Shoup does not have this particular water pump. You now have to buy $150 to get them to pay the shipping. Found this out on my last order. I do like doing business with them.

Hello Andy, Here's the part numbers for the water pump. Can you get them cheaper than what ltf quoted for a rebuilt pump? And I have not rebuilt a water pump on a tractor but have on my pressure pump for the house and even with a SS pump shaft it was eat-up pretty bad.

My catalogs indicate that a reman pump is available for approx. $98. The rebuild kit is the same price. Since I am cheap and lazy, I would order the reman and a gasket an save the difference.

If you can get a rebuilt pump for #98.00 it's a bargain. Make sure it's for a diesel with a 361 engine. My book has one for $140.00 shipped to you.

To take the waterpump off of an 806 you will need to take the radaitor out of the tractor. There isn't enough room to take the water pump out.

Not sure of your tractor configuration but I got my water pump out without removing the radiator. Question is are you referring to the internal cartridge that has the shaft and volute or the entire housing? I removed the entire housing by unbolting and coming out sideways.
