I was curious about the oil to use in the Belly pump . I have a Saginaw three point hitch adapter .
And am concerned this might damage the seals .
Should I put engine oil in like the book says ?
Thanks people

The paragraph reads: Fill the lift-all to the full mark on the bayonet gauge with a clean , good quality engine oil of the same viscosity as used in the engine of your tractor . It should be filled when the implements are in the down position .
This is directly from the Farmall H Operator's Manual . Thats why I was wondering , with new equipment , like the three point hitch , That damage may occur to the seals . I had a bucket on this tractor with hydualic cylinders and I am sure motor oil was in the system .
Anyone been through this ?

Thanks. I don't have an Operator's Manual, guess I should get one!

I use hydraulic fluid so I can't help as to whether motor oil would indeed damage cylinder seals, but I expect that it would.

You have a book that says to use engine oil in the belly pump?

I have a reprint of the original manual for my M. It says use the same oil as in the engine. It goes as far as to add the however that one should not used drained engine oil.
