Had a neighbor ask me if power steering is still available for his Super MTA. I told him at one time is was and that I wasn't sure if is still available today, either through a dealer or like Bates Corp. Any info you can provide me would be great!!

At one time Char lyn(not sure of spelling) made the unit that went into the steering shaft used on a lot of the old Ms. Was told by a dealer today that they tried to get seals for one and the company no longer makes them nor do they stock parts. Perhaps a salvage yard. There were a lot used on the old Internationals. Not perfect as they put a lot of pressure on the steering gears but better than a sharp stick

Charlyn still makes power steering kits for tractors. Central Tractor shows them in their catalog. As for parts Charlyn now belongs to Eaton Corp - look for a local distributor under "fluid power" in the yellow pages.

BTW the Charlyn power steering works GREAT! We've got a couple Super M's that we installed kits on nearly 30 years ago. Makes the tractors much more pleasant to operate, especially with a mounted corn picker or a front blade. The PS has never given a bit trouble.
