I'm rebuilding engine - water is getting into oil. Looking up from bottom, with oil pan removed, I can see drops of antifreeze towards front of engine. Local machine shop says they can "magna-flux" to find possible crack in block. Am I wasting my time and money? If they do find crack how will they repair and will it hold? How much does a used block typically costs? THANKS!!!

Is the coolent at the bottom of one of the liners or is coming down from the front of the block?
Some blocks have a frost plug in behind the front cover.

most M blocks crack behind the dry sleeves. you can then bore out the bolck and set a new wall then fit the dry sleeve,if you find another block make sure ti has the right main cap,s on it.or you will have to line bore it.
