I have a 1944 M 6 volt with a magneto. The generator has the cut-out? box on it.Can I put a 6 volt regulator on the steering post and rewire it that way? Pretty obvious I don't know Jack about it. Thanks for any replies.

you can get a new late model M wiring harness from your local case ih dealer for about 30 bucks, not worth the time to make one. when i can get one from the dealer that is what i use if i can not then i make one to the same color code as o.e.m.

You can replace the cutout box with a regulator. Can stick it on the generator in place of the cutout like Gene suggests. But the regulator may last longer if mounted to the steering post (cooler and less vibration than up under the hood).

Bottom line is how much rewiring do you want to do...

Thanks for the info on wiring. I'll check with Carter and Gruenwall for a new harness. What would some of us do without Bob M. and the Tractor Vet and a lot of other tractor experts. Thanks again from Vermont. Snow here any day now. But only about 9 months of it. Heh,Heh,Heh
